Keto Chaffles with Caramel Memento
One of the challenges faced when following the ketogenic lifestyle is finding low carb, healthy alternatives to bread. Chaffles are quickly becoming one of my favorites, as they are super simple and fast to make, taste great, and can be adapted to several different applications, from dessert to burgers.
The following recipes are for dessert chaffles. I like to top off with my favorite Keto ice cream by Enlightened or Killer Creamery.
Recipe: (Makes 6 x 4-inch chaffles)
3 x pasture-raised eggs
1 1/2 cups of grated cheese (Mozzarella works well)
1 teaspoon of organic Monk fruit sweetener
For the chocolate version, add 2 tablespoons of organic cacao powder
Crack eggs into mixing bowl
Add grated cheese, monk fruit, (optional cacao) whisk together
Preheat waffle Iron before adding batter
I use the Dash Mini Waffle Maker $9 on Amazon or Target
Add roughly two Tablespoons to the waffle iron and close the lid.
For a crispier version just leave in the iron for an extra minute once the indicator light goes out.
Remove from iron, rest for two minutes
Top with your favorite healthy toppings.
These versions are finished off with Keto ice cream, fresh organic berries or Keto Chocolate from Ketolat, and Caramel Memento for the added flavor and brain health benefits.
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring!
